Earlier this month, Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute hosted its first international class in a decade as four Taiwanese firefighters came to Lawrence and Salina for the 80-hour Structural Collapse Awareness Operations Technician Certification, training alongside Kansas firefighters and task force members to gain accreditation for Taiwan’s USAR program.

Jenn Johnson, director of the Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute, was awarded the Organizational Excellence Award by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress on April 10.
