Fall 2023 courses now available for registration.

KU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers noncredit enrichment courses and events in accessible and innovative learning environments throughout northeastern Kansas and Greater Kansas City, and engages virtually with individuals from across the nation. Although our program focuses on individuals 50 and "better", learners of all ages and backgrounds are welcome. No homework. No tests. No pressure. It’s learning just for the joy of it.

This fall we have courses in Emporia, Eudora, Fairway, Lawrence, Leavenworth, Manhattan, Olathe, Overland Park, Paola, Prairie Village, Salina, Topeka and Clay County, Mo.

Our fall semester runs from September 11 through December 15. During that time, we will host 77 courses/events. Step into the classroom or join us online for exciting courses with your favorite instructors, which include history, literature, the natural and social sciences, fine arts, the great outdoors, and current events. We’re introducing 42 new courses and welcoming 11 new instructors, along with four new partners. Courses will be offered in various formats, including in-person, hybrid and online. If you sign up for a hybrid course, you can either attend in person or join us online. You will just need to specify your choice upon registration. Course times vary from 90 minutes to two hours taught in three-week sessions and some one-day courses. Special event times are based on the specific offering so be sure to carefully review the event descriptions for details.

Be sure to take advantage of our referral program. If you know a lifelong learner who understands the value of intellectual engagement and social connection, encourage them to enroll in their first three-week Osher course for an introductory price of $15. Once they enroll, you will receive 50% off one Osher course (does not include special events). The person must be new to Osher or have not taken classes since June 1, 2019. All discounts must be used by December 31, 2023. To refer a friend, reach out to linda.k@ku.edu.

Osher Membership Fee

A required individual Osher membership fee of just $25 will be collected during the fall semester each year to grant participation in the Osher offerings. Your paid membership allows you to attend Osher courses and special events. It also provides you access to several FREE activities including: the KU Osher Speaker Series; The Artistic Exploration Club; The Book Club; and The Osher Outings. We’re excited to nurture your ongoing quest to learn as you engage with and contribute greatly to the world around you.
