Fire Instructor Training - Kansas Fire & Rescue

Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute
Fire Instructor
The Fire Instructor program area provides a pathway for new and experienced training personnel to gain fire and emergency services instructional experience, confidence, competency, and national credentialing. These courses infuse the principles of adult learning, psychology, instructional coaching, and training development within the scope of NFPA 1020, the Standard for Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, Fire Officer, and Emergency Medical Services Officer Professional Qualifications (Chapters 4 and 5), and NFPA 1400, Standard on Fire Service Training (Chapters 16 - 21).
All Fire Instructor courses are delivered in a hybrid format. Students complete an online component ("Part 1") before attending the face-to-face session ("Part 2").
Topics include training designed to meet national certification for:
- Fire Service Instructor Level 1 and 2
- Live Fire Instructor
- Live Fire Instructor-in-Charge
